Enhancing Energy Access to Critical Sectors of the Economy

It was an honor participating as a panelist at the 100th edition of the power dialogue with the theme, ‘Enhancing Energy Access to Critical Sectors of the Economy: Agriculture, Healthcare, Transportation and Clean Cooking’. According to the IEA country report on electricity, the residential sector consumes the most electricity produced in Nigeria.
The combined consumption by the industrial and commercial sectors is less than the consumption of the residential sector.

We must be intentional about changing this narrative if we truly want to industrialize as a nation. I highlighted the role of gas-to-power in today’s energy transition and the potentials it holds for enhancing access to this critical sectors. Partnerships between policy makers, gas suppliers, power generators, utilities and the consumers are important for successful energy delivery in the critical sectors.
